After a bye week, the Jacksonville Jaguars return home for Week 10 in the 2023 NFL season, taking on the suddenly-struggling San Francisco 49ers at EverBank Stadium. Kickoff is 1 p.m. Sunday, November 12.

Watch those quarterbacks: Sunday's game matches a former Mr. Irrelevant in 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, the final player selected in the 2022 NFL Draft, against Mr. Super-Relevant Trevor Lawrence, the most coveted QB prospect in the game when the Jaguars selected him No. 1 overall in 2021.

Injuries are in the spotlight leading up to kickoff. Jaguars defensive backs Tyson Campbell and Andre Cisco might both return this week after missing the victory against the Steelers, and 49ers offensive tackle Trent Williams has been fighting to return from an ankle sprain.

If there's a bright side for the Jaguars, it's that they've responded well after blowouts

There’s no sugarcoating this loss. There’s nospin possible to make the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 34-3 rout at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at EverBank Stadium more palatable. As usual in the NFL, the question becomes, “what now?- Garry Smits

Jaguars Report Card: All-around awful day for Jags in hammering by 49ers

On one of the worst days in Trevor Lawrence’s career, where he had two interceptions and a fumble and finished with a 48.8 quarterback rating, it’s not surprising the offense never found a rhythm and was showered with boos in the fourth quarter. See the full report card. - Gene Frenette

Nightmarish day: Jaguars can't keep up with talented 49ers, lose 34-3

Under gray skies in Jacksonville, the Jaguars went down hard to the 49ers for their worst loss of the season -- and the worst loss the team has had since losing 40-14 to the Detroit Lions last year. - Demetrius Harvey

FINAL: 49ers 34, Jaguars 3

The Jaguars drop to 6-3 as the five-game winning streak crashes to the proverbial shuddering halt, leaving a lot of questions entering the second half. - Clayton Freeman

Two-minute warning: 49ers 34, Jaguars 3

An ugly game for the Jaguars is just about over. - Clayton Freeman

C.J. Beathard enters at QB for Jaguars in place of Trevor Lawrence in blowout

This one is just about in the books. Trevor Lawrence will be getting the rest of this afternoon off as C.J. Beathard enters for the final two-plus minutes. San Francisco leads 34-3. - Clayton Freeman

Christian McCaffrey TD streak likely to end: 49ers turn over on downs inside 5

The 49ers have their backups in the game, but the exception is Christian McCaffrey. San Francisco kept feeding him the ball nonstop in an effort to get McCaffrey sole possession of the consecutive-TD record, currently shared with 1950s and 1960s Baltimore Colts great Lenny Moore. But Darious Williams finally swatted away a fourth-down pass to McCaffrey.

Yes, the 49ers went for fourth down with a 34-3 lead. May be interesting to find out how the Jaguars think about that. - Clayton Freeman

Touchdown 49ers: Brock Purdy escapes pressure, fires TD pass to Kyle Juszczyk

It's fullback time. Kyle Juszczyk gets into the end zone, pulling down a touchdown pass over the middle from Brock Purdy as the 49ers pile on. Christian McCaffrey is above 100 all-purpose yards, too. The Jaguars' five-game winning streak is history.

49ers 34, Jaguars 3, 13:10 4th. - Clayton Freeman

Interception: Trevor Lawrence fires off-target pass directly to 49ers' Fred Warner for a pick

It has been flat-out dominance from the 49ers' defense and a day that Trevor Lawrence won't want to think about. He's taken a beating from the front seven and just launched one of his worst passes of the season, directly to Fred Warner over the middle. The 49ers' linebacker, who has been everywhere, returned the football across midfield. San Francisco, up 27-3, has a chance to extend its lead early in the fourth quarter. - Clayton Freeman

End of third quarter: 49ers 27, Jaguars 3

Fifteen minutes left in this one, in a game the Jaguars will want to forget. - Clayton Freeman

Touchdown 49ers: No flags this time as Deebo Samuel takes end around to the end zone

It's all San Francisco in this one. The Jaguars haven't been able to stop Christian McCaffrey and they're not having much luck with Deebo Samuel, either. The receiver took an end around down the left side behind the block of Trent Williams for a 23-yard score. The Jags are absorbing a beating at the Bank against an NFC power.

49ers 27, Jaguars 3, 1:20 3rd. - Clayton Freeman

Fumble: 49ers' Ambry Thomas strips Christian Kirk, but touchdown return nullified by extra Niners on field

Disaster strikes again for the Jaguars. Christian Kirk was stripped inside the 10 by Ambry Thomas, and the 49ers' corner scooped up the ball and took it back the other way. He shook off a tackle and found the end zone for an apparent 94-yard touchdown, but officials penalized San Francisco for live-ball unsportsmanlike conduct -- players had entered from the sideline prematurely to celebrate the turnover. Although the return is wiped out, San Francisco still takes over possession. The 49ers are still in command, leading the Jaguars 20-3 with 5:17 left in the third.

Was the 13-3 halftime deficit against the 49ers the largest of 2023 for the Jags? Not quite

The Jacksonville Jaguars trailed San Francisco 13-3 at the half on Sunday at EverBank Stadium. It's not the biggest deficit of the season and it's not the lowest-scoring half of the season for the Jags. - Garry Smits

Interception: Trevor Lawrence pass glances off Tank Bigsby's hands, picked by Dre Greenlaw

It's getting worse for the Jags. The Jaguars moved across midfield on completions to Christian Kirk and Calvin Ridley, but on third-and-1, Trevor Lawrence rolled to his left and came under heavy pressure -- yet again -- from Nick Bosa and the San Francisco D-line. His short pass hit Tank Bigsby in the hands and ricocheted to 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw. San Francisco takes over again near the midfield stripe, leading the Jaguars 20-3 before the midway point in the third quarter. - Clayton Freeman

Touchdown 49ers: San Francisco strikes at once, George Kittle beats Devin Lloyd deep for 66-yard pass from Brock Purdy

A nightmare start for the Jaguars' defense. The 49ers, on the second play of the half, isolated tight end George Kittle deep against Devin Lloyd and Brock Purdy got the ball there. Kittle caught it, shook off a stumbling Lloyd and high-stepped into the end zone.

49ers 20, Jaguars 3, 14:10 3rd. - Clayton Freeman

Second half kicks off: San Francisco receives the football

The Jaguars' defense, which has responded well after allowing a touchdown on the opening drive, will go to work again to begin the third quarter. San Francisco leads 13-3. - Clayton Freeman

Field goal 49ers: Jake Moody converts 35-yarder, San Francisco leads Jaguars 13-3 at halftime

It's been the Christian McCaffrey show on this drive. But the 49ers stalled out in the red zone, after Travon Walker broke into the backfield and tripped up Brock Purdy. After a review to determine if Purdy's knee was down, officials flagged the 49ers for intentional grounding. In the end, Jake Moody kicked a field goal -- barely inside the upright from 35 -- as the half expired to restore the 10-point margin.

49ers 10, Jaguars 3, halftime. - Clayton Freeman

Two-minute warning: 49ers driving in Jacksonville territory

Christian McCaffrey has been active on this drive and the Jags are having a hard time chasing him down. The 49ers, up 10-3, are close to getting into range to add on before halftime. - Clayton Freeman

Field goal Jaguars: D'Ernest Johnson sparks Jags' best drive of day, Brandon McManus boots 37-yarder

The Jaguars needed to get something going on offense, and they did. D'Ernest Johnson came into the game at running back and touched the ball four times in a row, advancing out near midfield. Trevor Lawrence found a rhythm, too, mostly on screens and short passes to the flat. The Jags also profited from an illegal contact foul on the Niners, but on third down, Lawrence's pass to the end zone was batted away by Charvarius Ward. Brandon McManus came on and kicked a field goal that made it inside the right upright. Points on the board.

49ers 10, Jaguars 3, 4:20 2nd. - Clayton Freeman

Jaguars' Travon Walker hits Brock Purdy, forces punt; 49ers pin Jags inside own 1

Almost a valuable takeaway there from the Jaguars' defense. Travon Walker rounded the line and hit Brock Purdy on third down, and Jaguars cornerback Tyson Campbell fell on the ensuing loose ball. But officials ruled quickly, and apparently correctly, that Purdy's arm was moving forward, making the play an incomplete pass. The 49ers' punt was downed inside the Jags 1, leaving Trevor Lawrence and the offense with miserable field position. The 49ers still lead 10-0, 11:56 2nd.

Fumble: Nick Bosa and Chase Young combine to strip-sack Trevor Lawrence, 49ers recover

It's not getting better for the Jaguars. They advanced behind midfield and nearly hit the big play off the reverse pass, but Christian Kirk overthrew Travis Etienne, who took a punishing but unpenalized hit from Charvarius Ward in the process. Then, on third down, Chase Young and Nick Bosa combined to sandwich Trevor Lawrence, forcing a fumble. The 49ers pounce on it just on San Francisco's side of midfield. The 49ers still lead the Jaguars 10-0, 13:19 2nd. - Clayton Freeman

END OF FIRST QUARTER: 49ers 10, Jaguars 0

The Jaguars seem to have regained their balance on the defensive side of the ball after forcing a quick three-and-out, at least, but they've got a lot of work to do. The 49ers are set to punt when the second quarter opens. - Clayton Freeman

Tim Jones time: Jaguar backup receiver gets first first down, but Jags still punt

Tim Jones has been unusually active in this one for the Jaguars. He has two catches already, including a first down for the first time of the afternoon, while more prominent receivers Christian Kirk and Calvin Ridley have been largely shut out of the action. But the first down doesn't lead to the first points for the Jags: Trevor Lawrence is still under heavy pressure, and Nick Bosa swatted down his pass on second down. That leads to another punt. The 49ers still lead 10-0 with fewer than two minutes left in the first quarter. - Clayton Freeman

Field goal 49ers: Jake Moody converts kick after Foye Oluokun sack

This doesn't look like the 49ers team that had lost three games in a row. They're making it look so simple now. Quick first downs by Brandon Aiyuk and Christian McCaffrey, then a third-down conversion to Jauan Jennings, advancing inside the 20. But Foye Oluokun sacked Brock Purdy on another third down to keep San Francisco out of the end zone. Jake Moody arrived to boot a 39-yard field goal, extending the Niners' edge.

49ers 10, Jaguars 0, 4:21 1st. - Clayton Freeman

49ers' pass rush overpowers Jaguars on another three-and-out

Just nowhere to go for Trevor Lawrence right now, and nowhere to run, either. The 49ers end another short drive with three defenders jumping all over Lawrence, leading to another punt. A rough start on both offense and defense for the Jags, who have negative yardage so far. San Francisco leads 7-0 with 8:59 left in the first quarter. - Clayton Freeman

Touchdown 49ers: Four-play drive ends in Brock Purdy-to-Brandon Aiyuk TD

The 49ers made that look easy. Brock Purdy advanced the San Francisco offense into the red zone on just three plays, completing passes to Christian McCaffrey and then a wide-open George Kittle. Then, Purdy rolled left, escaped pressure and threw against his body to a leaping Brandon Aiyuk amid heavy traffic in the back of the end zone. A highly risky but ultimately effective pass, and that means an early deficit for the Jags.

49ers 7, Jaguars 0, 11:34 1st. - Clayton Freeman

49ers pass rush active: Arik Armstead sacks Trevor Lawrence, Jags go three-and-out

Not an encouraging start for the Jaguars' offense. Trevor Lawrence came under heavy pressure from All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner on first down and got sacked by Arik Armstead on third down. The ensuing punt sets up San Francisco in fine field position. Still 0-0, 13:39 1st. - Clayton Freeman
