From my understanding, the I-485 is processed by your local field office. National Benefits Center is not a field office. It’s a service center.. The Kansas City office is a field office that serves some counties in the KS Metro area. When you file the original application to the lockbox, USCIS contractors receive it and do initial processing like scanning, uploading documents, ensuring right forms and fee were used etc. It then gets transferred to a service center (Either Texas, California, NBC etc etc). At the service center they review your application to determine whether you are missing documents like birth certificates, medical etc and they issue an RFE if necessary. They also enter your case into the system for biometrics at your local ASC. Once they receive bio or reuse previous bio, they run a background and security check. Once all is cleared (I.e they received responses to any RFEs issued, completed your background check etc) they make your case available to the field office for interview. So you then go into a “Ready to be scheduled” queue for your specific local field office. Depending on the workload of the local field office and how fast they operate your case will either be interview waived and approved since you’re employment based or scheduled for an interview if you’re marriage based.

Our i-485 case also got moved to the same location couple of days ago. Has anyone noticed any changes in their case status whose cases got moved to the same location?

Yo también estaba confundida sobre el lugar exacto donde esta siendo procesado mi caso. Creo que tengo un poco más claro el tema aquí. A mi me enviaron el 13 de Julio un RFE en julio del año pasado, envié la respuesta a lo que me pidieron en una semana. Pero no he obtenido ninguna respuesta nueva. Solo sé que ellos ya recibieron la respuesta a lo que solicitaron en el RFE. Desde que envié mi caso hasta la actualidad pronto en Marzo el 26, se cumplirá 1 año desde que recibieron mi caso para ajustar estatus por matrimonio. Estoy pensando en llamar el próximo mes si es que no hay novedades este mes.

@Pankaj our i-485 got moved to Lee's Summit, MO on December 14th, 2021. After that, there is no update. PD 05/26/2011. RD 10/30/2020. No EAD yet.

Also , fingerprinting was done in August 2021. Original application went to Nebraska Service Center. Local field office is either one of the below Oakland / San Jose / San Francisco in California. For fingerprinting we went to Oakland.

Same for me PD:05/14/2013, Downgrade to EB3 on 10/30/2020, got I-140 approved in July-2021 and Biometric done and applied to I-765 in Nov 2021 and then case was transferred to NBC - Lees Summit. After that, there is no update.. No EAD/AP yet. My PD date in EB3 got retrograde and EB2 my PD is not current

yes, I submitted my Medicals with 485 filing in September 2021

actually slower by some standards. I am part of September 2021 EB filers group on Telegram. I believe 30% of them got their GC before me. if that helps. the earliest person to get GC (non expedited) was first week of November 21. off course half that group is still waiting, but things seems to be moving faster after uscis wasted GCs last year.

also, if it helps, I am seeing several cases that were transferred to NBC from SRC and NSC and they are being adjudicated in line with the transfer date. so for e.g if your case got transferred to NBC in November, you will get your approval in line with November 2021 filers at NBC. I have seen several instances where that happened. looks like both you and Yogendra had their case transferred to NBC late last year. hang in there. you should be very close. I am starting to see November and some December filers get approval from MSC, so you should be close.

@yogendra did you get any update from nbc lee's summit? my case has transferred to nbc a couple of days ago and I'd like to know how long it would take until GC is approved. my I485 was filed august 2021 original center was nebraska

Hi, my I485 was filed on 09/30/21 (simultaneous filing for EAD). Biometrics on 11/10/21. Just received a transfer notice on 3/17/22 to Lees Summit. Any update on how to track process at Lees Summit NBC?

I am an EB3-3. My i-485 transferred to NBC Lee Summit, MO on March 24th, 2022 after a year stuck in Nerbraska. My Received date is Dec 2020. I hope I get good news soon.

PD: Feb 2011, eb2 date current in Oct 2020 (765 & 485 filed),receipt notice in dec 2020,finger printing June 2021,EAD received in dec 2021case transferred to lees summit on apr 26.

Well no idea about the weird wait time. i know someone whose got moved to Lee's Summit in the last week of February and they got GC by in the first week of April.

Yup. Talked to tier 2 support and they said nothing can be done other than waiting. It really depends on the officers who is processing.

Hi,It has been 45 days since my case was transferred to NBC. On USCIS website their case inquiry date is shown as April 14th, 2021. My case was received by USCIS on April 2nd, 2021. Should I call them and ask for an update? Thank you!

My PD is June 8, 2011. I filed EB2 to EB3 downgrade on Oct 30, 2020 went to Texas Service Center..Received EAD in Aug, 2021. BM completed on Dec 30, 2021. Case transferred to NBC on Feb 16, 2022. When I chatted with EMMA, they told on March 9, 2022 case transferred to San Juan field office..Waiting for update

Hi although the visa bulletin says the current month is feb 2023 and i filed in december 2023. Does the fact that my biometric is sheduled and they moved to Mo for faster processing mean, I may get it sooner than anticipated? Do you know if miracles happen? or is the visa bulletin being current is the most important piece of info. Just looking for some optimism here
