Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • Make sure that you don’t overfill your pastry bag before squeezing out your churros! If the bag is too full, the churro dough may fall out the back and go to waste. It’s best to fill the pastry bag about halfway full. That way you’ll have perfect control as you pipe out your churros. You can always refill it if your bag isn’t large enough!
  • You will need to make several batches of churros in your air fryer. You want to make sure that there is plenty of room for the air to circulate.
  • Use a star-shaped tip to get that nice churro shape.
  • You can refrigerate your piped churros for up to 1 hour prior to frying. This will help them keep their shape. Any longer will dry them out.
  • To help the cinnamon-sugar mixture stick better, roll them right away.
  • These are best enjoyed right away, warm

Can I use something else if I don’t have a pastry bag?

If you don’t have a pastry bag, a Ziploc bag always works great! Just snip the corner of it with scissors and use a pastry tip and you are good to go!

You’ll want to make sure that you get a more heavy-duty Ziploc bag to hold up to this warm dough.

Storage

Serving churros right away is always a good idea because they are best hot! If you aren’t able to eat them all, though, you can store them in an airtight container or bag for up to 2 days.
